Experience the power and attitude of a true late-80s Gibson with this vintage 1989 SG Standard, a model that captures the era when rock, metal, and punk tones were pushed to the limit.
It is in very good condition with age with some blemishes as pictured - many of which aren't visible unless bouncing light onto the surface as we have done in the photos to exaggerate them. Everything works as it should and there's no breaks or repairs.
Built in the Nashville factory, this SG features the classic double-cut mahogany body and set mahogany neck that deliver exceptional sustain with a fast, comfortable playing feel. The slim-taper neck profile makes riffs and lead runs effortless, while the rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays retains the unmistakable vintage Gibson aesthetic.
This era of SG Standard is known for its solid build, big tones and heavy-duty hardware, including a Gibson Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece for reliable tuning stability and resonance. This 1989 model came with the small guard, like on a 61 reissue. Under the hood are a pair of powerful Bill Lawrence Gibson humbuckers that deliver punchy mids, tight lows and cutting highsperfect for everything from classic rock crunch to aggressive alternative gain.
It comes complete with its original case with pink furry cover, to keep it protected.
