one owner from new, originally purchased from Andy’s Guitar Workshop in Denmark Street in 1981 – a real rare piece from Chris May at Overwater as they only made guitars for a few years before stopping to concentrate on basses
- Mahogany body with straight-through neck
- flame maple top
- ebony fingerboard,
- rosewood veneer on headstock
There are a couple of interesting playability features :
Conical Radius fingerboard – wider at the top of the fretboard than at the nut end graduated Fretting – wider frets lower down, (narrower higher up)
- Schaller machineheads
- Schaller Tuno-o-matic bridge
- Schaller strap-locks
the original Bill Lawrence pickups (which actually sounded rather dull) have been replaced with a pair of Kinman Extra Vintage Humbuckers, which made a huge difference – the instrument now has character to the clean sound!
the original plastic volume & tone knobs replaced with the knurled chrome ones. The Volume knobs have push-pull for single coil (also sounds great with the Kinmans)
