Australian guitar maker Maton has been making quality instruments in Melbourne since just after World War II, using as many native tonewoods as possible to be eco-conscious and future-forward in regards to sustainability and their business practice. 

This model, The Performer, has the same body shape as their celebrated 808 models (including Tommy Emmanuel’s signature guitars) but with slimmer sides and a soft venetian cutaway. This smaller body acoustic is more portable and projects incredibly well, partly down to the use of native Bunya for the soundboard. Bunya is a naturally loud sounding wood so that makes up for the slighter body and then some! The back and sides are made from solid Queensland maple.

Maton design and manufacture their own pickup systems too. This Performer comes fitted with the AP5 system which includes a sweepable midrange boost/cut feature: a great asset to have on stage when you need to dial in environment-specific tones to match your chosen venue.
