Part of the Soundgear Series, the super-high-grade Ibanez SR1305SB 5-string bass bears a character-packed sandblasted finished and a stunningly detailed exotic wood build. The African mahogany body has been finished with a five-piece panga panga and purpleheart Atlas neck which has been solidly reinforced with titanium rods. The panga panga fretboard is echoed by the panga panga and ash strip that bisects the body which not only lends this bass its stunning looks but adds a modern punch to the warm foundation sound set up by the body.

In terms of amplified sound, you’re getting the full punch and potency of a pair of Nordstrand Big Break pickups and the solid support of an active Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp. This not only sets up this SR bass with powerful three-band equalisation that can be toggled on or off at will, but the option to accurately boost or cut the mids by 250, 450, or 700 Hertz, and besides that, you’re provided with full control over the volume and balance between both soapbars.
