Fender ST72
A killer CBS-era Strat from Fender Japan! We really do love a 70’s style Strat, especially in an off white finish with a Maple neck (Jimi Hendrix anyone?). This beauty is equipped with a trio of USA pickups from the factory so it’s no slouch in the tone department either!
Spec:
Basswood body
Maple neck
21 vintage frets
3x Fender USA Stratocaster pickups
Master Volume
2x Tone control
6 Saddle bridge
Gotoh tuners
Our old ST72 is in great shape, it’s hardly been played! We’ve replaced the volume pot as it wasn’t working too good but other than that it’s 100% original. Freshly set up with D’Addario 10’s and ready to go!
Dating this guitar has been slightly difficult (as it often is with Japanese Domestic Market Fenders) and we believe this to be a transition guitar built during the factory switch from FujiGen to Dyna Gakki which would date this guitar to around 96/97. The neck and body appear to be FujiGen but the electronics scream Dyna to us (small pots). Is it important? Not really, it’s a fantastic player and beautifully put together.
The Guitarzilla Promise
All of our guitars benefit from a full in-house set-up which includes neck relief adjustment, nut adjustment, action adjustment, fingerboard oil, fret polish, intonation adjustment, electrical components cleaned/replaced and a good clean! Finally we fit a fresh set of D’Addario strings, so you’re ready to go straight out of the box!
If you have any specific set up requirements please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will happily accommodate you!
