The Epiphone Century E422J, crafted in 1959 at the renowned Kalamazoo factory, reflects a rich history rooted in American guitar manufacturing. By the 1950s, Epiphone was owned by Gibson, and the Century E422J was produced alongside some of Gibson’s most famous models at the renowned Kalamazoo factory. This particular model features a pressed archtop body, which was more affordable than carved tops but retained great resonance and projection, making it highly popular among working musicians of the era. The Century was somewhat slept on for many years till James Bay popularised it with his use of a 1966 Model.
