Whilst you don’t often see guitars made of Pine these days, Fender’s original prototype instruments were actually fashioned from this distinctive wood, and this guitar was part of a limited run of strats made from 100 year-old reclaimed, lightweight Pine, and showcasing the grain and natural knotholes of the wood that made each guitar completely unique, plus a highly figured neck to match!
The FSR Exotic Pine strat was not just about sensational looks though. This guitar has authentic vintage-inspired Fender tone and is loaded with three American Vintage ’59 single coil strat pickups that offer the clear articulate tone we know and love. This is combined with a balanced 9.5″ radius, D-profile maple neck that’s comfortable for chords but also flat enough for wide bends. So it’s versatile enough to handle the needs of most musical styles. Other features included a 6-screw vintage style bridge, vintage tuners and narrow tall frets.
This example is in very good condition – with just a few blemishes on close inspection and as per the pics. It’s very lightweight at only 7lb 2oz and it comes with its original case to keep this rare guitar protected, plus the paperwork / trem-arm pictured.
