It is a superb example with a stunning flamed top (photographed in both studio and natural light for comparison) and has no discernable non factory wear. It is lightweight at only 8lb 11oz.   This authentic recreation exemplifies Gibson Custom Shop's tireless quest for accuracy to the original year of production, from the woods to the construction and parts. Each Custom Shop Reissue is every bit the instrument and statement piece as the priceless vintage examples, and the Murphy Lab ageing, paired with aged hardware, simulates decades of subtle playing wear — giving it the unique character, vibe and feel of an original example from Gibson's "Golden Era". It is covered in lacquer checking on close inspection and is effectively as close as you can get to the vintage feel of a legendary '59 burst, but without the £400k+ price tag.    It's period correct features include a lightweight Mahogany 1-piece back with Maple top, fairly chunky C-profile Mahogany neck with Indian Rosewood fingerboard, 12” radius, Hide Glue fit, Narrow/Tall frets, Long-tenon, No-wire ABR-1 bridge with lightweight Aluminium stop bar, vintage style Kluson tuners and Custom Bucker Alnico III unwaxed pickups which sound absolutely superb and offer up classic, vintage Les Paul tone.
