Boss CE-3 Chorus, USED

The Boss CE-3 Chorus, released in 1982, was the third iteration of Boss’ legendary chorus pedals and the first to offer stereo capabilities. As a successor to the iconic CE-1 and CE-2, the CE-3 retained the lush, shimmering modulation that Boss chorus pedals are known for but expanded its functionality with a stereo output, catering to players looking for broader spatial effects.

The CE-3 includes three control knobs: Rate to adjust the speed of the modulation, Depth to control the intensity of the chorus effect, and a Stereo Mode switch. The stereo function allows for two distinct outputs, either splitting the chorus signal into a standard wet/dry configuration or creating a more immersive ping-pong effect when routed to two amplifiers. This feature made the CE-3 particularly appealing for players looking to achieve a more dimensional, spread-out chorus sound.
