Starfield Cabriolet Bass
A killer offset thumper. Starfield guitars and basses were manufactured in Japan in the 70’s by Hoshino and were produced at the Fujigen factory alongside Ibanez guitars. Starfield guitars share a lot of design aspects as their Ibanez counterparts, even down to the serial numbers, hardware and pickups.
The Cabriolet bass has a lot in common with the Ibanez Talman, there’s some slight differences it’s very close! Our CB 400 (model number stamped on the neck) is a bit of a rare bird, I can’t find the model in any of the Starfield catalogs but it’s a very cool little bass with a great tone and unique offset silhouette.

Our old Cabriolet has had a life and it shows, the body has plenty of scratches and dings here and there, it wears them all very well. We’ve rewired the guitar with fresh Alpha pots and installed a new set of black All Parts knobs.
